Anguillians

The anguillians emerged from the icy depths of the Iilagu Trench, and that has been their homeland ever since.  They owe their success to the abundance provided by The Murk, a thick soup of nutrients that issues forth from cold seep points all along the bottom of the trench.  Few other intelligent races thrive in waters so cold, so the anguillians have been isolated from the rest of the ocena's civilizations throughout most of their history.
