Ribcage Reef

The sandy reefs known as the Ribcage are a bane to travelers in these seas. The shallow waters are home to blood red sand bars upon which countless ships have run aground and lost their lives. The bones of ships and creatures of the sea alike lay scattered about puncturing the seas surface and bleached white by the sun. Scavengers of the sea frequent this region looking for a quick meal or some recently unlucky vessel to plunder.

Maps of the area do little good, since the sand bars are constantly changing. The sands can be shifted to easily reveal some long lost treasure, and then just as quickly moved to cover it back up again.
